What kind of pens are there for raising pigs?
Different stalls in the pig farm have different specifications. The pig raising equipment must be reasonably arranged according to the pig house construction structure in order to maximize the performance of the pig raising equipment!
1. Boar house and breeding house
Most boar houses are single-row with a sports floor. The pen wall or fence is 1.2-1.5 meters high and the pen area is 7-9 m2. The sports field area can be 1.0-2.0 times the pen area. The breeding boars are all raised in single pens.

2. Pregnant House
Single-row or double-row type, open or semi-open type with sports platform are also used, and they can be raised in groups or individually. When raising in groups, there are 4-6 empty pregnant sows per pen and 2-4 pregnant sows per pen. Sows are raised in groups and fed alone (feeding is restricted). Because single-feeding pens in groups use stalls to position feed, the focus is on the uniformity of feed among individuals, and the sows have sufficient exercise. However, under intensive conditions, pregnant sows are mostly raised in a high-density, positioning style, and the pig houses are double-row or multi-row, open or semi-open. Cage bars mostly use metal single limit bars.

3. Delivery room
The farrowing house is often a double-row type. In order to meet the requirements of the suitable temperature for sows at 16-18℃ and for suckling piglets at 29℃-32℃, the peripheral structure is closed and the cages are high-bed farrowing pens. The middle part of the bed is the sow restriction area (generally 0.60-0.65 meters wide), and the piglet activity areas are on both sides. In the metal fence of the high bed, there are sow troughs, automatic water fountains for sows and piglets, thermal insulation protective boxes and free feeding troughs for piglets.

4. Nursery
After the piglets are weaned and transferred to the nursery, they should be provided with a dry, warm and clean indoor environment: they can be raised in a litter or in a mixed group, on the ground or on a raised bed. Modern intensive farming mostly uses all-metal fences, and its single fence : 2.0 meters long, 1.7 meters wide, 0.6 meters high, the bottom of the bed is 30 centimeters above the ground, and the fence bars are spaced 6 centimeters apart. There is 1/2 cement solid floor and 1/2 slatted board under the bed. The solid floor is convenient for eating and sleeping, and the slit floor is convenient for excretion of feces and urine.

5. Growth and fattening house
The ground group breeding method is mostly used, with 8-12 pigs per pen. The pen area and feeding width depend on the number of growing and finishing pigs.
