The Press Service of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development announced that Russian pork will begin to enter the Chinese market in the second to third quarter of 2024.
​The General Administration of Customs of China has recently lifted restrictions on Russian pork imports, thus opening a window for Russia to import Chinese pork.
​Russian pork will begin to enter the Chinese market in the second to third quarter of 2024... In order to start actual supply to the Chinese market, Russia needs to take a series of actions, which is estimated to take 3 to 12 months.
​China is in a leading position in terms of residents’ pork consumption, and the Russian Ministry of Economic Development believes that the Chinese pork market is the most promising market for Russia’s domestic pork product exports.
