Is raising pigs on cement floor so harmful? Is concrete floor really not suitable for raising pigs?
1.It is easy to cause diarrhea in pigs.
During the construction of pig farms, the ground is not very flat, so a large amount of cement is used for leveling. The average thickness of cement is 6-8 cm. Especially in winter, cement floors easily absorb heat and have poor heat dissipation levels. When it's cold weather, the cement floor is very cold. The pig itself doesn't have much hair on its body, and there are only a few hairs on its abdomen. How can it be kept warm? In the absence of floor heating, pigs are prone to diarrhea due to cold stomachs, and the pigs will only get together and form a pile of arhats. The pig housekeeper remembers that when he was raising pigs thirteen years ago, during the winter, he would put a lot of fine soil, plant ash, crushed wheat straw, etc. in the place where the pigs slept to keep the pigs warm and prevent diarrhea in the piglets. At that time There is no such thing as floor heating. The living conditions are not that good. Fortunately, with the progress of the times and the improvement of economic level, no one can do anything you can't think of. This kind of cement floor will often cause diarrhea in nursery pigs, and it will be better for medium and large pigs.

2. It can easily cause the pig’s fur to become rough, affecting its appearance.
Because the cement floor is made of fine sand and cement, but there is a lot of fine sand on the surface of the ground. When the pigs lie down, it is easy to bruise the fur. Repeatedly, the fur will become rough and messy.

3. It is easy to cause limb and foot disease in sows, especially sows in stalls.
Smooth cement floors can easily lead to splitting injuries in sows. Rough cement floors can also cause bruises on the skin of joints, forming a large joint. Scabs can also cause laminitis and nail lengthening on the sow's hind limbs, contusion and hyperplasia of the bottom meat pads, and affect the sow's estrus and breeding.

4. It is easy to cause Streptococcus and Haemophilus parasuis diseases in fattening pigs and nursery pigs.
You may find that fattening pigs and nursery pigs in your own farm will have swollen pimples of different sizes on the front and rear limb joints. what is that? It was either Streptococcus or Haemophilus parasuis. Some people always say that I have been vaccinated against both Streptococcus and Haemophilus parasuis. The pig housekeeper would like to say that these two diseases are condition and stress diseases, and the condition is caused by the cement floor. Piglets and fattening pigs are not very quiet, and it is easy for them to wear their foot pads and become infected with pathogenic bacteria when playing, and diseases can develop.
