Factors Affecting the Effectiveness of Disinfectants
1. Various disinfectants have different properties and have different effects on pathogenic microorganisms. Most disinfectants have a better bactericidal effect at high concentrations, and only have a bacteriostatic effect when the concentration is reduced to a certain level. Excessive concentration of disinfectant does not necessarily improve the disinfection effect.
2. The same disinfectant has different bactericidal effects on different types of microorganisms and in different growth stages. Therefore, the appropriate disinfectant must be selected according to the disinfection object. In addition, the greater the number of pathogenic microorganisms, the longer the disinfection time required.
3. In general, warm water disinfects better than cool or cold water.
