Russia plans to capture 10% of China's pork import market in the next 3 to 4 years
Nikita Gusakov, senior vice president of the Russian Export Center, also revealed in an exclusive interview with Russian media that Russia hopes to become one of the three major pork suppliers to the Chinese market, and has launched a "meat transport line" specifically for express delivery of meat products to China.

Compared to Russia's enthusiasm, EU countries are gloomy. "For the pork supply chain, a complete suspension of EU pork exports to China may be a nightmare, which will have an impact on the entire EU," said Justin Sherrard, global strategist for animal protein at Rabobank, who doubted whether EU countries could find alternative markets for these pork products in the future.

Politico News Network Europe quoted experts as saying that if China seeks alternative supplies outside of European countries, South America may also benefit in addition to Russia. Koch, a meat analyst at German market consulting firm AMI, said that Brazil is expected to increase pork exports to China. Brazil has been expanding its export capacity in the past few years. An Asian trader engaged in animal feed trading also said that Brazil, China's main agricultural trading partner, is very competitive in pricing and can easily increase its market share.
